The story of ” Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One” begins with an elderly John Constantine sending Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, on a journey through time to revisit key moments in his life. These moments range from the time he gained his metahuman abilities to his wedding with Iris West.
During a battle with the power-absorbing android Amazo, Superman is injured and is aided by Barry and Green Arrow. They seek help from Bruce Wayne for Superman’s medical attention. Bruce suggests forming a team that includes Barry, Clark Kent (Superman), Oliver Queen (Green Arrow), fashion model Mari McCabe, and John Jones, a Martian living on Earth as a private detective.
The newly formed team attempts to recruit Green Lantern, but fails. At a press conference meant to unveil the Justice League headquarters, Amazo attacks. The android, originally created to improve human life, has been reprogrammed by Lex Luthor to kill anyone not human. The Justice League struggles against Amazo, as it can absorb and replicate their powers.
Batman suggests an airstrike as the only solution to destroy Amazo, but the idea is rejected by the others. The Flash then confronts Dr. Anthony Ivo, the creator of Amazo, who reveals he has been rapidly aging due to a disease. Ivo has been working with Luthor to harness quantum energy absorption to extend human life. In a sacrificial act, Ivo convinces Amazo to transfer all the absorbed metahuman energy to him, which ultimately leads to Amazo turning against Luthor.
